The Michigan Attorney General's Office executed search warrants in relation to their investigation into gymnastics coach John Geddert this morning, according to a statement from the department.

Geddert was a U.S. Olympics gymnastics coach who worked closely with ex-MSU doctor Larry Nassar.

The statement said the search warrants were executed at Geddert's home as well as Twistars, the gymnastics club he founded. Many Nassar survivors were abused at Twistars, located in Dimondale, Michigan.

The Michigan State Police and the Grand Ledge Police Department assisted the Attorney General's Office in executing the search warrants, according to the statement.

The Attorney General's Office took over the investigation into Geddert in February 2019. The Eaton County Sheriff's Office was handling the investigation before.

Geddert and Nassar were colleagues and were known to be friends. Geddert showed support for Nassar when reports of him sexually abusing women and girls began piling up. In September 2016, Geddert told The Indianapolis Star that Nassar was “an extremely professional physician.”

Geddert also faces allegations of verbal and emotional abuse of gymnasts.

The Attorney General's Office had no further comment at the time of publication.
