Two construction notices have been broadcasted by the city of East Lansing, warning residents of both weather-related and construction-related closures.
Underground utility work that had been originally scheduled for this week in the 100 block of westbound West Grand River Avenue has been postponed until next week to allow time for winter weather clean up.
This means the center and right lanes are set to be closed from Nov. 18 until Nov. 22.
During this time, the pedestrian covered walkway adjacent to the Park District redevelopment project will also be closed. A detour will be in place.
A lane and intersection closure starting at the same time goes until Nov. 23 as a part of the city's Infrastructure Restructure project on the northbound right lane of Harrison Road, between Oak Street and Grand River Avenue, and Oak Street at the intersection of Harrison Road.
"We're not digging up anything, but we're lining the 24-inch diameter sewer," noted Nicole McPherson, engineering administrator for the East Lansing Department of Public Works.
McPherson said that upon completion, the next step for this area is going to be to break down most — if not all — of the temporary traffic control, buttoning it up for winter.
Delays are expected and alternate routes are advised.
