The administration of the oath of office for the newly elected and reelected council members is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Courtroom 2 of the East Lansing 54-B District Court, 101 Linden St.

The results of the East Lansing election on Nov. 5 have been officially certified by the Ingham County Board of Canvassers. The three open City Council seats were given to candidates Jessy Gregg, Lisa Babcock and Mark Meadows, who was reelected by only two votes.

The oath will be governed by East Lansing City Clerk Jennifer Shuster at the beginning of the Council’s regular meeting.

Following this, the Council will then elect the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, also administering the oath of office for both of these leadership positions.

The meeting will continue with regular agenda items after the new elects and reelects have been sworn in. All City Council meetings are public and live streamed via the City Meeting Portal.
