First Board of Trustees meeting of the academic year to take place Friday

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees are meeting for the first time since June this Friday at 8 a.m. in room 401 of the Hannah Administration Building. This will be Samuel L. Stanley Jr.'s first board meeting since being unanimously selected as president in May.

After attendance is called and the agenda is approved, members of the public will be able to address the board. Stanley will then be giving the president's report, according to the meeting's agenda.

June Youatt resigned as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. According to the agenda, Youatt was scheduled to give personnel actions and information reports.

Committee reports and items that need the board's approval will also be addressed.

Items requiring the board's approval range from budgeting and financing, to revisions, to standing policies.

This will be followed by the Chairperson's report and trustees' comments, and then the meeting will adjourn.
