The Beaumont Tower carillon bells will ring Tuesday in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

A free concert will be held on the Beaumont Tower lawn at 12 p.m. The carillon bells will play a piece titled “Our Time: Me Too,” composed by musician Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra and dedicated to sexual assault survivors.

Tana Fedewa, the director of MSU’s Sexual Assault Program, or SAP, will give remarks before the concert.

The concert is the first of several events taking place on campus for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The concert precedes the dedication of a tree to survivors, that will be planted and dedicated at 1 p.m., east of the MSU Museum.

Both the concert and the tree-planting lead up to the unveiling of “Finding Our Voices: Sister Survivors Speak,” an MSU Museum exhibit. It will feature tributes to the sister survivors of Larry Nassar, as well as art, poetry, audio and text contributions from the survivors themselves.

MSU Museum curators and members of The Army of Survivors — a survivor-ally network — worked together to create the exhibit. It opens at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the museum’s main gallery.
