DES MOINES, Iowa — Michigan State turned the ball over 22 times Saturday night, but the second-seeded Spartans (30-6) routed No. 10 Minnesota, 70-50, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Wells Fargo Center.

Forward Xavier Tillman led MSU with 14 points and six rebounds. Point guard Cassius Winston scored 13 and had a game-high nine assists. For the Golden Gophers (22-14), Amir Coffey led all scorers with 27.

The Spartans are off until Friday, when they play No. 3 Louisiana State (28-6) at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.
