Following Michigan State's 75-63 win over No. 7 Michigan at the Breslin Center on Saturday night, the team honored seniors Kenny Goins and Matt McQuaid as part of the annual Senior Day ceremonies.
Goins, a walk-on-turned-starter from Warren Mott high school, scored nine points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds in 39 minutes. McQuaid had 10 points, including a key 3-pointer during MSU's 26-5 momentum-swinging run in the second half, to go with three boards.
Goins started all 31 this season, while McQuaid has started in 27 of the 28 games he's appeared in. McQuaid, a native of Duncanville, Texas, missed three games spanning late November and early December. In conference play, the two combined for 20.1 points per game.
