Woman who shot herself on campus shooting range is dead, MSU Police say

The woman who shot herself Jan. 25 died Feb. 1, MSU Police said.

MSUPD recieved information about the incident via the Ingham Regional 911 Center. It was reported that a woman had suffered a self-inflicted gun wound in the Demmer Center, MSU's on-campus shooting range.

A Michigan State University Police Facebook post said individuals on the scene immediately administered first aid and East Lansing Fire Department medics later transported her to the hospital. 

According to MSUPD Capt. Doug Monette, the woman was not an MSU student. There is an open and ongoing investigation and no threat to the MSU community.
