Spartans drop after pair of losses

The Michigan State Spartans fell eight spots, coming in at No. 23 in the latest AP poll. The Spartans faced two road tests this past week, resulting in a pair of heartbreaking losses, 62-70 in Evanston and 64-68 in Bloomington.  

The Spartans are one of several Big Ten teams in the Top 25, including No. 9 Maryland (won 75-69 over Ohio State), No. 17 Iowa (won 77-71 over Nebraska), No. 18 Minnesota (loss to Illinois 62-66) and No. 25 Indiana (won 68-64 over MSU).

The Spartans will face Minnesota on Wednesday Jan. 9 before having a brief break before they visit Columbus on Jan. 14.
