Hertel, Jr. re-elected to 23rd state Senate seat

Democratic incumbent Curtis Hertel, Jr., D-East Lansing, won the race for the 23rd Michigan Senate District against his Republican challenger Andrea Pollock.

Hertel won the Ingham County-based district with 57,946 total votes, or 67.2 percent of the vote.

An MSU alumni, Hertel's district includes the cities of Lansing and East Lansing. Hertel was first elected to the state Senate in 2014.
