Junior point guard Cassius Winston was named to the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy Preseason Watchlist Monday afternoon. The award is given annually and is meant to recognize impressive efforts of college basketball players by rewarding their drive and achievements on the court.

This is the second preseason watch list Winston's name has been listed on, as he was also named to the Bob Cousy Award Preseason Watchlist last month.

Seven other Big Ten players found their way onto the the 50-man list including Nebraska's James Palmer Jr., Minnesota's Jordan Murphy, Michigan's Charles Matthews, Wisconsin's Ethan Happ, Purdue's Carson Edwards and Indiana's Romeo Langford and Juwan Morgan.

The list will be trimmed down to 30 come February and then a list of 10 national semifinalist along with four finalist will come out in March. The award will be given out on April 7 during the Final Four in Minneapolis.
