The MSU presidential search committee has sent out a press release of a finalized version of the position advertisement for the next university president.

The next move for the search committee is to create a position specification document, the email from the university said. It will be informed by comments from the MSU community and be made public upon completion.

The 21st president of MSU will promote transparency and collaboration within the university as they work with the Board of Trustees, deans, administrators and other members of the MSU community, the press release said. They will safeguard the university’s commitment to planning and implementing its major initiatives.

This position advertisement requires the next president to have a history of dedication to equity, inclusion and justice along with exemplary academic credentials.

They will manage the university’s $2.6 billion budget and $2.85 billion endowment, according to the press release. There is also a requirement for the next president to be the epitome of MSU values, embodying the highest level of integrity and appreciation for diversity. They are called to have respect and support for the students, faculty and staff.

Nominations for the presidency are open and confidential. They can be submitted to MSUPresident@storbeck.com.
