A 21-year-old man was shot in an apartment in the 2300 block of Stonehedge in the early hours of Nov. 15, according to a press release from the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD).

The victim is reported to not be an MSU student.

The suspects, four or five African-American males, forced their way into the apartment and an altercation ensued, the press release said. A single gunshot was fired and police arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m. The victim was transported to Sparrow Hospital.

The suspects wore dark colored hooded jackets and sweatshirts and covered parts of their faces, according to the press release.

ELPD does not believe there is a wide-scale threat to the surrounding community and precursory information suggests this was not a random incident.
