Award-winning broadcast journalist Cokie Roberts will speak at MSU as part of the annual Governor Jim Blanchard Public Service Forum Nov. 27.

Roberts is a reporter for National Public Radio, most commonly heard on "Morning Edition," and a political commentator for ABC News. She has won three Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award, and the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism.

"The forum honors those who have distinguished themselves in politics, diplomacy, public service and journalism," Blanchard said in a statement. "The goal is to give students and the larger community a chance to meet them and be energized by them. We are excited to be able to have Cokie Roberts on campus to do this."

Roberts will analyze the results of the 2018 midterm elections during an interview with Blanchard.

The event will take place at 7:30 pm in the Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre. Tickets are $28.50 and can be purchased from the event page.

Blanchard donated $1 million to MSU for the creation of the annual program. Previous honorees include former President Bill Clinton, documentary filmmaker Ken Burns and Congressman John Lewis.
