MSU football moves up to No. 20 in AP poll, down in Coaches

After Michigan State beat Central Michigan 31-20 on Saturday, the Spartans moved up one spot from No. 21 to No. 20 in the week six edition of the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Spartans (3-1, 1-0 in Big Ten) also moved down one spot in the USA Today Amway Coaches poll, going from No. 18 to No. 19.

This is the third time this season MSU has moved up in the AP poll, while it's the third time the Spartans have dropped in the coaches poll.

Other Big Ten teams that moved in this week's AP poll are Ohio State, from No. 4 to No. 3; Penn State, from No. 9 to No. 11; Michigan, from No. 14 to No. 15; and Wisconsin, from No. 15 to No. 16.

The Spartans' next game is against Northwestern (1-3, 1-1) for homecoming at Spartan Stadium. The game will be televised on FS1 on Oct. 6 at noon.
