Democrat Gretchen Whitmer and Republican Bill Schuette will appear in two gubernatorial debates this October.
WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids will host the first debate at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12. Rick Albin, host of WOOD-TV's political show "To the Point," will moderate the debate. WDIV Local 4's Kimberly Gill and Devin Scillian will moderate the second debate in Detroit, which will take place from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m on Oct. 24.
Each debate includes questions from the moderators and will permit opening and closing statements. Debates will be televised by the hosting stations, streamed online and likely will be simulcast across Michigan on other stations.
