For the past four days, East Lansing Police investigated an incident where a suspect was reported to be peeping into windows in the Bailey Neighborhood. On the night of Sept. 5, an individual matching the suspect description was arrested according to a press release from ELPD.

ELPD Deputy Chief Steve Gonzalez said the suspect is described as a 56-year-old East Lansing man.

Due to the significant evidence gathered, ELPD detectives say they feel confident that the subject arrested is the party involved in the confirmed window peeping incident.

Detectives are working on a case for charges surrounding the peeping incident.

Gonzalez said detectives will hopefully wrap up their case and present it to the prosecutor by tomorrow or at the latest Monday. Since the press release this morning, there has been another official report.

"If there's anybody that had an incident like this that has not reported it to the police as of yet, we'd like them to reach out to us so that we can get another report started for them," Gonzalez said

The press release also reminds residents to be mindful of their surroundings, secure their windows and doors and report suspicious activity to the police immediately.
