While the current Michigan State football team is looking towards its first game at 7 p.m. this Friday, August 31, against Utah State at Spartan Stadium, fans and future players can look ahead.

The Big Ten announced Wednesday afternoon conference schedules for every Big Ten team from 2022-25.

The Spartans will start Big Ten play in 2022 home against Ohio State, then will partake in a home-and-home series with Maryland from 2023-24, with the first game in Spartan Stadium and second at Maryland Stadium in College Park, and will open in 2025 at Minnesota.

MSU will also keep playing OSU and the University of Michigan at home and Penn State away in even years, while playing at Columbus and Ann Arbor and hosting the Nittany Lions in odd years. They'll also go back to playing PSU during the last week of the season from 2024-25.

The Spartans' projected Big Ten West division opponent will also switch from Northwestern, which lasts from 2016-21, to Minnesota.

For non-conference play, only two home-and-home series have been confirmed during that time span: Boise State from 2022-23 and Boston College from 2024-25.
