MSU's Vice President and Special Counsel to the President Carol Viventi is taking a medical leave of absence after suffering from a minor stroke this past weekend, MSU's Communications and Brand Strategy, or CABS, said in an email.
Viventi's leave of absence will be effective from this week until at least Labor Day, CABS said.
"At this time, there are no plans for an interim in her position," Jessie Adler, public relations manager for CABS, said. "Please join us in respecting her privacy during this time."
Viventi was appointed by Interim President John Engler as vice president and special counsel of the university in February.
