Take Back the Night, an annual event with a goal to “shed a light on the prevalence of domestic and sexual violence” will take place at the Union from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The all-day event, organized by members of the MSU community and Greater Lansing, is free to the public. There will be several activities throughout the day.

According to the event’s description, the event’s intent is to transform the culture and break the silence surrounding domestic and sexual violence, while empowering survivors of these types of abuse to come forward.

“Such an event is especially relevant and necessary on a college campus recently ravaged by a sexual abuse scandal,” the Facebook event page description reads.
