The East Lansing Public Library is holding its seventh Annual Books, Bites and Bids fundraising event on April 13.

The event will be held at the library at 950 Abbot Road from 5:30-9 p.m. Admission to this event is donation-based, but a donation of $30 per person is recommended.

"It is just a really great and easy way to support the East Lansing Public Library, plus it is fun," Executive Assistant to the Library Director Jennifer Amormino said.

There will be a silent auction, food, drinks, live music and activities for children. Joe Sam from WILX News 10 will be the M.C. for the event, and there will be a surprise guest.

There will be a variety of items to bid on, including a basketball signed by Tom Izzo, a football signed by Mark Dantonio, a one-night stay at the English Inn, a one-night weekend stay at the East Lansing Marriott, two passes to the Common Ground Music Festival, Lansing Symphony tickets, a selection of paintings by local artists, restaurant gift cards and more.

The money raised from this event will go toward a Mobile Pop-Up Library.

“We hope to see a great community turnout at this year’s Books, Bites & Bids event,” E.L. Public Library Director Kristin Shelley said in a press release. “We have a lot of exciting items coming in every day for the silent auction and a lot of fun is in store for those who plan to attend this special community fundraiser in support of the library.”
