Preview: Disney's The Lion King to be performed at MSU's Wharton Center

The Wharton Center and Disney Theatrical Productions have announced that tickets for Disney’s The Lion King will go on sale to the public on Monday, March 19, 2018. 

The long awaited return of The Lion King will be performed for three weeks between July 11 and July 21 at MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts.  

The North American theater productions version of The Lion King has been scene by over 19 million theater goers in more than 70 cities. The Lion King premiered on Broadway on Nov. 17, 1997 with over 90 million seeing the production since. The play won six Tonys at the 1998 awards, including Best Musical. Music written by Elton John is included in the score. 

Tickets are available online at whartoncenter.com, at the Auto-Owners Insurance Ticket Office at the Wharton Center, or by calling 1-800-Wharton. Groups with 10 or more can call (517) 884-3130. 

The performance schedule is Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday will be performed at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
