Groovy Donuts will host a fundraiser at each of its locations in Williamston and East Lansing for the Spartan Global Development Fund on Jan. 31.
The Spartan Global Development Fund is located on campus and is a nonprofit organization that has a goal to educate, inspire and enable agents of global change. The organization extends small, interest-free micro loans to extend interest-free micro loans to aspiring entrepreneurs in the developing world to don't have access to credit with reasonable interest rates to grow their company.
"Spartan Global is incredibly excited to partner with Groovy Donuts to fundraise for this cause," Scott Lyman, President and Member of Board of Directors, said in the event press release. "We hope you stop by Groovy Donuts on Jan. 31 to support Spartan Global and entrepreneurs across the developing world."
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards future micro loans. Groovy Donuts will donate 10% of total sales from both locations and will offer an additional 5% donation for any pre-orders of one dozen donuts or more.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the phenomenal student organization," Andrew Gauthier, Founder of Groovy Donuts said in a press release. "Supporting a great group of students who operate an organization that won the 2017 Richard Lewis Quality of Excellence Award from the Eli Broad College of Business was an easy decision."
