East Lansing's own version of Black Friday is this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, businesses in East Lansing will have their "Green Friday" sales, according to a press release.

“This is a great opportunity to support local downtown East Lansing businesses, while taking advantage of some great sales and specials during the holiday shopping season,” said Amy Schlusler, East Lansing community development and engagement manager.

Parking is free from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday and validation is available at all businesses during the two-day event.

A free, outdoor winter festival will be held in conjunction with Green Friday on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.

The Winter Glow Festival will feature an outdoor holiday market, a music tent, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, at the Ann Street Plaza and surrounding businesses.
