One MSU student is in serious condition and another is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after they were struck by a pickup truck near the crosswalk at Shaw Lane and Chestnut Road, MSUPD said.

Cpt. Doug Monette said the students, both identified as female, were on mopeds when the crash occurred around 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

A GMC pickup truck crashed into two mopeds stopped in the roadway near the crosswalk on East Chestnut Road. According to Monette, the two moped drivers were transported to Sparrow Hospital by East Lansing Fire Department paramedics.

There were two occupants in the pickup truck. Neither were injured.

The crash is still under investigation, but Monette said neither drugs or alcohol are considered to be a factor in the accident.
