MSUPD releases statement regarding car fire at Ramp 2

After a car was set ablaze Sunday, MSU Police announced Monday that Ramp 2, near the intersection of Auditorium Road and Farm Lane, is once again safe to park in.



According to a release from the department, IPF structural engineers reviewed the ramp and determined the structure could be open. However, certain parking spots on the first and second floor will remain closed until further notice.

Reports of the fire first hit social media early afternoon Sunday. Initial reports indicate an SUV inside the structure caught fire.


The cause of the fire or the total extent of damages is still unknown at this time. MSU Police was unavailable for contact when this story was published. It is unknown whether the matter is sill under investigation.
