An MSU student died early Friday after being struck by a motor vehicle on Saginaw Highway west of Park Lake Road, according to a release from East Lansing Police.
ELPD arrived to the scene at approximately 5:47 a.m. Initial investigations determined the accident involved a motor vehicle and a pedestrian walking on the roadway, according to the release. The pedestrian, identified as a 23-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. Chad Connelly told The State News the vehicle was later identified as a sedan and the vehicle stopped when the incident occurred.
Connelly, however, could not disclose any more information while the incident is under investigation.
