ELPD find man dead near Charles Street parking ramp

Update 11/6:  The incident is now being investigated as an apparent suicide, ELPD Lt. Chad Connelly told The State News Monday.



East Lansing Police found a deceased individual at the base of the City Center ramp at the corner of Albert Avenue and Charles Street, near the Buffalo Wild Wings, officials say.

Lt. Chad Connelly said ELPD responded to a “mental health” call near the ramp at approximately 4 a.m. Connelly said once officers arrived, they located a deceased male at the ground level of the ramp and that the male appeared to had fallen from the ramp.

“A preliminary investigations indicate there was no foul play involved,” Connelly said, however he confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
