East Lansing Police release name of MSU student killed in crash

Monday morning, East Lansing Police released the name of the MSU student who died early Friday after being struck by a car while trying to cross Saginaw Highway west of Park Lake Road. 

The student was identified as 23-year-old Ki Wook Kim, an integrative studies in social science junior from Troy, Michigan. 

According to an obituary listing, there will be a visitation for Kim at the Harry J Will funeral home in Livonia, Michigan, on Monday from 4-9 p.m. A funeral for Kim will be held on Tuesday at the St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church, in Northville, Michigan. 

ELPD arrived to the scene at approximately 5:47 a.m. Kim was pronounced dead at the scene. Lt. Chad Connelly told The State News the vehicle was identified as a sedan, and the vehicle stopped when the incident occurred.
