A 52-page long document recently released by MSUPD holds all crime reports from 2014 to 2016 that occurred on campus, in off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by MSU including on public property within, or accessible from campus. There is an entire section recounting the alleged sexual assaults committed by former university employee Dr. Larry Nassar.

Each campus of MSU — East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Macomb, Troy, and MSU Dubai — is included in the report.

The annual security and fire safety report was posted Sept. 28, 2017 and all MSU students and employees were notified of its release via email from Secretary of the Board of Trustees Bill Beekman.

The release comes annually per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act.

The document details nearly every nook and cranny of the MSUPD.

The criminal offense chart for MSU’s East Lansing campus shows a significant decrease in the number of burglaries that were committed in campus residential facilities. Standing at 105 reported in 2014, the number dropped to 48 in 2016.

The chart includes reported cases regarding Nassar, which occurred in non-campus buildings or properties, according to the report. The 68 reported counts of rape and three reported counts of fondling cast massive shadows over the number of reported cases in prior years.

“The University believes that posting the report on the web is an appropriate way of furnishing this information,” Beekman wrote in the email. “It is easy to go to the parts of the report and related policies that interest you.”

The report provides information related to safety and security and outlines the police department's, as well as MSU’s, policy on varying crimes.
