MSU landed its third defensive end recruit of the 2018 class on Thursday when West Hills, California native Parks Gissinger tweeted his commitment to the Spartans.
Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports' composite ranking, Gissinger chose MSU over Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Iowa State, Kentucky, Boston College, among others.
"Throughout this process I have realized how grateful I am," he wrote in a memo on Twitter. "I would like to thank every school and coach that recruited me and gave me the opportunity to play for them. I would like to thank my family who guided me and help transform me into the man I am, and I would like to thank God for bestowing me with all of these wonderful abilities. With that being said, I am proud to announce I'm committed to Michigan State University."
Gissinger joins Ohio twins Jacob and Zachary Slade as MSU's other DE commits for the 2018 class.
Six other recruits committed to MSU from Ohio include: Javez Alexander from Sandusky, Xavier Henderson and Trenton Gillison from Pickerington Central, Jeslord Boatenf from Dublin Coffman, Michael Dowell from Lakewood St. Edward and Edward Warinner from Olentangy Liberty.
MSU also has a commitment out-of-state from cornerback Christian Jackson from Marietta Lassiter in Georgia.
The Spartans have also landed home state commits from quarterback Theo Day of Divine Child in Dearborn, offensive tackle Dimitri Douglas from Saline, Davion Williams from Belleville.
