Ingham County Prosecutor authorizes sexual assault charges against 3 MSU football players

June 5, 2017

Carol Siemon, Ingham County Prosecutor, has decided to authorize sexual assault charges against three MSU football players under investigation, according to a press release. The warrants were requested by MSU police.

Siemon stated in the release the criminal charges against three persons are an accusation, and "the accused should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."

The three individuals charged were not named.

The release stated the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office also reviewed an individual who used to work for the MSU football team. Siemon said that she will not be issuing charges or a warrant against them.

After MSU released the Jones Day law firm's report earlier Monday, the three separate investigations surrounding the incident are complete.

The Title IX investigation was completed May 22, and it was found the three MSU football players were in violation of university policy.
