On Saturday, May 20th, the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter put on the 8th Annual Woofer Walk and 5K.
The event took place in front of MSU Auditorium, where about 200 people gathered with their dogs to raise money in support of the Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund and Animal Care Fund, which allow the organization to provide a full-time Animal Cruelty Officer for the community, as well as food, housing and care for neglected animals.
The event included a free Kids’ Fun Run, an official 5K in affiliation with the Michigan Fitness Challenge race series, and a 1-mile walk. Vendors gathered to sell homemade products such as collars, and Sparty was there to cheer on the participants.
