Lansing resident Liz Owczarzak cries on Jan. 24, 2017 at her apartment complex in Lansing. Owczarzak was formerly homeless, and began to cry when recollecting the hardships of her life; her truck was her home for about two months until she was able to be put in a shelter. Owczarzak mentioned that being scared during the nights was the hardest part of living in her vehicle. "When you live in poverty, you don't have a lot of choices,"Owczarzak said. —
