Editorial: The State News endorses Singh for State Rep.

Third-term incumbent Sam Singh is proven and ready to continue taking on the issues that matter to students in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Singh has a plan for higher education reform and said one of his goals is to invest directly into student aid. Because he sits on the House Higher Education Budget Committee, The State News believes he can make that happen.

Singh's work on student issues extends to legislation recently signed into law that protects those who seek medical treatment for a prescription drug overdose or similar emergencies from being charged with drug possession.

This and Singh's focus on higher education reform prove he is focused on issues that matter to students and the reason The State News endorses him to represent the 69th District in the Michigan House of Representatives.
