In MSU’s last three home matchups against the University of Michigan, there have been a substantial number of minor-in-possession (MIP) charges made on campus.

Their most recent contest in East Lansing occurred on Oct. 25, 2014. MSU police Capt. Doug Monette said there were 27 MIP charges issued that day from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

To put things into perspective, when MSU took on Northwestern University earlier this month, there were 22 arrests made during the entire weekend and 21 were made during the weekend the Spartans played Brigham Young University.

Other recent MIP gameday charges include last season's games against Indiana University (3), Purdue University (4), Central Michigan University (13) and the United States Air Force Academy (9), while 16 arrests were made on Sept. 12, 2015 in MSU's win over the University of Oregon.

In the Spartans’ 29-6 victory over the Wolverines on Nov. 2, 2013, there was a total of 15 MIP charges, while on Oct. 15, 2011, there were 47.
