Tom Izzo and MSU basketball landed their second recruit for the 2017 class Friday in Grand Rapids Christian's Xavier Tillman.

Tillman, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound power forward/center, chose MSU over Purdue, Florida and Marquette, among others. Last season he averaged 16.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists, according the Detroit Free Press's Chris Solari.

Tillman is ranked the second best recruit in the state of Michigan by ESPN and is No. 75 in ESPN's Top 100 rankings. Rivals.com lists Tillman as the nations No. 86 overall recruit and 24/7 Sports lists him as the 89th best player in the country.

He played summer basketball for Spiece Indy Heat AAU alongside Jaren Jackson Jr. who committed to MSU earlier this month.

According to Solari, MSU basketball has three scholarships left to give out for the class of 2017.
