Bank robbery reported in East Lansing

ELPD released surveillance video photos of the suspect pictured in a grey Detroit Lions hoodie.

ELPD found a sum of money believed to be related to the robbery, according to a release sent out Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect is reported to have demanded money with an unseen firearm before exiting the store and getting into the passenger seat of a late 90s or early 2000s blue car believed to be a Toyota. A short time later, police located a sum of money on Harrison Road they believe to be related to the crime.

No suspects are in custody and anyone with information is asked to call the East Lansing Police Department at 517-351-4220.


The East Lansing Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the PNC Bank on Lake Lansing Road, according to an alert sent out Tuesday afternoon. 

The suspect is at large and he's described as five feet tall and was wearing a white tie-dye shirt, a hoodie, had short braids and his race is unknown.

ELPD Det. Scott Wriggelsworth said the suspect indicated to employees at the bank he was armed, although it is unknown if he was truly armed and fled the scene on foot at about 2 p.m.
