53rd Annual Art Festival comes to East Lansing, brings parking lot closures

The East Lansing Art Festival will be ushering in 186 artists and "tens of thousands" of visitors to East Lansing and will be affecting roads this weekend, according to an alert sent out by the East Lansing Police Department

The festival takes place the weekend of May 21 to May 22 and brings with it a number of public parking closures to accommodate the influx of art-goers.

The following road closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Friday to 10 p.m. on Sunday:

- Albert Avenue, from Charles Street to Evergreen Avenue

- Abbot Road, from Grand River Avenue to Elizabeth Street

- M.A.C. Avenue, from Grand River Avenue to Albert Avenue

The following parking closures will be in effect from 3 a.m. on Friday to 10 p.m. on Sunday:

- The Albert Avenue surface lot, 230 Albert Ave.

- The Abbot/Albert surface lot, 311 Abbot Road

The following parking closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Friday to 10 p.m. on Sunday: 

- The City Hall West surface lot, 415 Abbot Road

- The Evergreen Avenue surface lot, 275 Evergreen Ave. (behind Peoples Church)
