As spring semesters turns the corner and hits the final stretch, MSU’s College of Natural Science shared some tips for a successful end of the semester.
1. Know when your finals are
Knowing your finals schedule can help you plan out when to study. If you have one final on Monday and one on Friday, it might be better to focus on the Monday final first, according to MSU’s College of Natural Science.
2. Make a study schedule
Now that you know when your finals are, preparing for them is the next step. If you struggle more in one class than you do with others, give yourself more time to prepare for the hard class.
3. Getting adequate amounts of sleep
It can be popular to stay up all night to cram for a final the next day. Nevertheless, getting adequate amounts of sleep will leave you well-rested and better focused.
4. Take short, frequent breaks
The brain can only process so much at one time, according to USA Today College. Taking small breaks after 15-20 minutes will give your brain time to process your class information.
5. Stay positive
Stress and anxiety are even more apparent because of finals time. Staying positive will help you better prepare yourself for your test. Ways to help manage your anxiety include breathing exercises, listening to calming music and stretching, according to USA Today College.
