MSU police are reporting several cases of larceny, a case of fraud and a case of heroin possession from the past week.
On April 23 around 10 a.m., MSU police made a traffic stop near Clippert St. in Lansing. Upon making contact with the subject, police made an arrest because of outstanding warrants. Police then searched the vehicle and found three syringes with a cloudy liquid inside of them. The syringes were sent to MSUPD’s crime lab and the case has been forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office under charges of possible heroin possession.
Fraud
On April 20 around 3:30 p.m. inside the Owen Hall cafeteria, an employee contacted police regarding a subject who had stolen soda. The subject reportedly told the employee they did not want a beverage, but then proceeded to fill up a cup with soda. When the police arrived, the subject had left. No charges are being made in this case.
Larceny
On April 20 at Bailey Hall, a student reported their wallet stolen. The student had reportedly been playing basketball outside of Bailey Hall and left their belongings unattended. When they returned, they found their wallet was gone. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact MSU police Det. James Terrill.
Burglary
On April 24 around 8 a.m., MSU police were contacted in reference to an attempted burglary inside of Campbell Hall. According to reports, when police made contact with staff, they were directed to a broken window screen and a bent window frame, where a suspect could have entered. MSU police’s forensics team investigated the crime scene and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Chad Davis.
