The tenth annual Crosstown Showdown exhibition game between the Lansing Lugnuts and MSU has been postponed due to rain. As of now, no makeup date has been announced and it is uncertain that the game will even be made up, according to an MSU press release. This is the first time in the annual event’s history that the game has been cancelled.

MSU will now shift their focus on a three-game weekend series against Penn State. The Spartans will travel out to University Park for the set, with first pitch for Friday’s game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Nittany Lions will enter the series with a 4-2 conference record, good enough for fourth place in the Big Ten.
