The East Lansing Police Department is reporting a home invasion which occurred around 10:15 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Kedzie Street in East Lansing.

According to an ELPD statement, the homeowner awoke to pounding on the front door and an object being thrown through a window. The homeowner then fled the residence and called 911.

Responding officers took a 17-year-old male into custody in connection with the home invasion, but the incident remains under investigation and others may be involved.

ELPD is reminding community members to keep all windows and doors locked and to call 911 if they see or hear anything suspicious around their home or in their neighborhood.
