MSU's Department of Supply Chain Management program ranks first globally, according to a ranking from SCM World.
The program's closest rival, Penn State University, trails in the rankings by a significant amount, making MSU's program not only the best, but the best by a large margin.
The methodology behind the rankings involved asking notable employers their top three universities for SCM.
Each participant was asked to vote in an online poll, which said, "In terms of universities/business schools as markers of supply chain talent, please select your top 3 from the drop-down list.”
The top three were MSU, Penn State and the University of Tennessee.
MSU remained on top of all function rankings except logistics, which the University of Tennessee topped, and the "other" category, which the University of Texas at Austin topped.
