Week in Review: Jan. 15, 2016

January 15, 2016

Welcome back Spartans and here are this week’s top stories.

After a monumental and electrifying season, the Spartan football team finished 6th in the AP poll. The spartans successfully made the coveted college football playoff before suffering a rout at the hands of the Crimson Tide in the Cotton Bowl semifinal match.

As a result of the Flint Water Crisis, many students have supported a petition to have Governor Snyder resign. Claims from various students indicate the governor and his staff had full knowledge of the corrosive materials in the water but elected to do nothing.

Finally, this week the State News covered the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his visits to MSU in honor of the holiday. Personal stories of racism on campus were supplemented to explore the reality of prejudice in modern times.
