In light of recent events concerning race relations, an on-campus housing town hall meeting will take place today in the Delia Koo International Academic Center at 3 p.m in the Crossroads Food Court.
Director of communications for Residential and Hospitality Services Kat Cooper said concerns expressed by students is one of the reasons for this meeting.
“We are hoping to let students drive the conversation, hoping that students can come together and identify areas where there are issues and help us problem solve so that we can move forward together toward a better future,” Cooper said.
Students can expect to see Vice President of Auxiliary Enterprises Vennie Gore, who will be leading the meeting, and Director of Residence Education and Housing Services Kathy Collins.
“I think, certainly, the previous meetings we have seen around campus have influenced the need for this meeting,” Cooper said. “We just want to be proactive and make sure we are meeting with students, talking with them, trying to understand how we can do better.”
Anyone is welcome to come, but the topics talked about at this meeting will be focused on on-campus residential.
