At Thursday's ASMSU General Assembly meeting, student representatives voted to fund a Cotton Bowl travel option for student ticket owners.
The resolution, introduced by President Domonique Clemons, offers a charter bus ride to Arlington, Texas and lodging upon arrival. Tickets will cost $150 and will be sold to 100 students on a first come first serve basis with the next 25 being placed on a waiting list.
Sales began at 9 a.m. today in the ASMSU Business Office on the third floor of the Student Services Building.
Students must bring their student I.D. and proof of purchasing a ticket.
“This is actually absolutely, completely organically created by the students,” Clemons said.
Clemons said he and other ASMSU members received emails and messages from students asking them if they’d be chartering a bus or providing cost-saving measures to get students to the game, prompting the organization to take action.
“Everyone on the path to making this happen has been hugely supportive,” Clemons said.
