Four women have filed a lawsuit against MSU for its mishandling of their sexual assault cases. The lawsuit, filed Wednesday morning, is seeking economic damages for the students.
This lawsuit comes after findings by the U.S Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights declaring that MSU mishandled several sexual assault cases.
On Wednesday night, former President Bill Clinton accepted the Spartan Statesmanship Award for Distinguished Public Service at the Governor Jim Blanchard Public Service Forum in the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.
Clinton said in a speech, “I would argue that in the world we live in today, we all need to think of some way to do public service."
Student protesters and others joined arms and blocked staff and media from entering the room in which Clinton's speech was scheduled to take place. The group was protesting to draw awareness to campus racism and other issues.
The group met with President Lou Anna K. Simon in the Kellogg Auditorium to discuss their demands.
MSU Football will take on the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon in Columbus. Be sure to check out our live blog happening during the game.
