Following the MSU football victory over Ohio State this weekend, junior kicker Michael Geiger broke out in a windmill celebration.
Fans in the stadium cheered while couch fires were set in Cedar Village Apartments and others celebrated in the streets.
MSU alumnus Joshua Grasso celebrated the victory through a video he posted to Facebook on Sunday. With 69,000 views and counting, Grasso did not realize the attention his victory video would receive.
“I had a feeling it could get shared a few times, but I was pretty surprised how far and how quickly it got out there,” Grasso wrote in a Facebook message. “It’s been fun seeing my family get excited for me and sharing it.”
Grasso said his intention was to make a humorous video of him windmilling around the house for his friend.
“One of my wife's friends commented that she imagined me doing the windmill all over our house,” Grasso said. “Then I thought it would be hilarious to just record me doing the Geiger everywhere we went.”
The video has gone viral making it impossible for Grasso to get any work done. He anticipates hearing about it from his students this week.
“The funniest part was while I was on the carousel at the mall I heard my students shout ‘Hey, Mr. Grasso,'" Grasso said. “Slightly embarrassing.
Grasso hopes to make a Big Ten Championship celebration video next.
