Deciding on a major can be an overwhelming and stressful process. A student's major decides their entire academic path they hope will lead to an internship and ultimately a career in their chosen field.
This is why Undergraduate University Division is hosting their semi-annual Marathon of Majors on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Union. Representatives from MSU colleges will be present to provide information about majors, internship opportunities, study abroad opportunities, and many more.
Academic Support Units such as the Career Services Network, MSU Army ROTC and the Undergraduate Research Office will send advisors to answer questions and provide information about ways to gain outside-the-classroom experience.
Aaron Tucker, an UUD advisor, curates the event and said it is a great event for students to attend to learn about the resources available to them.
"Marathon of Majors is a great opportunity for students to explore majors, speak with advisors, and gain knowledge of multiple academic resources,” Tucker said. “Sometimes it¹s challenging for students to meet with multiple advisors when they are exploring majors. Marathon of Majors provides an environment suitable for quick conversations with advisors and college representatives."
The event is free for all students and will begin 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the 2nd floor ballroom of the Union.
